Wealth Management

The Indian Economy is on fire. After watching the lowest growth rate of 3.2% in the year 2002 Indian economy has never looked back since then. The current growth rate is 9% which is extremely high as compared to the world average. If the current trend of growth continues then India can the world’s leading economy by 2015 beating all the major developing nations especially among the BRIC nations. India has potential to become the world’s leading economy even before the 2015 but it requires mobilizing the resources more efficiently. However this requires the very well developed banking system, capital market, money market and other financial intermediaries. Banks are the key players in the financial system of a country. They perform the function of financial intermediation in an effective manner. Lately, internationalization or globalization of banks is being witnessed across the globe. Though banks assist in efficient mobilization of resources but there is much more scope for development in money market and capital market.

A variety of innovative services should be made available for potential investors of the country which in turn will lead to growth of these markets. One of the most booming innovative services is the ‘Wealth Management’ service.

The main rationale behind taking this project is to bring awareness about the service called ‘Wealth Management’. There is little or no awareness amongst the Indian people about the existence of such a field as wealth management. Whatever impression exists is mostly only suggestive or misleading. The general level of awareness is that wealth management is only suitable for big corporations and is feasible only for multi million dollar deals. The truth however is entirely the opposite. Any earning member needs to undergo and undertake wealth management. In this project an attempt is made to inform about the different services and products available under the Umbrella of wealth management and also to erase the misconception related to wealth management.
